WINTER ‘SOCIAL’TENNIS

Monday club night continues throughout the winter (weather permitting).

In addition, from 7th November a Friday morning ‘turn up and play’ session will run from 9am until 11am weather permitting). All members/ all standards welcome.

FLOOD LIT TENNIS

Following feedback* from members we are

currently investigating a solar lighting system

to aid players departure from the courts at night.

FRIENDLY MATCHES

Six ladies from the tennis club took part in a friendly match at Hitchin tennis club on Sat. 13th Sept. This was an excellent day out enjoyed by both teams. LTA MEMBERSHIP

The LTA are changing the rules of membership, in favour of small clubs.  Hopefully we will be members by October – in time to qualify for Wimbledon tickets in 2010.

SUMMER TOURNAMENT  28th June 2009

7 mixed pairs battled their way though 35 games to produce the winners – Anna Pye and Phil Wheatley.  Although the day was overcast in the morning by the afternoon we were bathed in 30°C sunshine.  A good time was had by all.
